Digital Pigment Drawing on ChromaLuxe

A visual interpretation of Franz Schubert’s iconic Ave Maria, this piece translates the flowing structure of music into colour and form.

Each note of the composition has been meticulously transcribed into hue, radiating from the centre outward. The result is a luminous, meditative work that echoes the grace and reverence of the original score.

Ave Maria is the first circular piece created by Elizabeth Mikellides, based on the longest musical composition she has translated to date. The circular format invites contemplation, much like the timeless piece it honours—encouraging viewers to drift, dwell, and be drawn into its rhythm of devotion.

Digitally rendered and printed on high-definition ChromaLuxe, this artwork pairs a soft matte-gloss finish with exceptional depth and durability.

This piece was featured in the Art Biennale Sur Mer with São Rafael Galleries, debuting during a one-night-only event on September 13th, 2025.
Set aboard a private yacht on the East River in Manhattan, the international exhibition brought together contemporary artists whose works spoke to rhythm, place, and imagination.
